Songs to Beckon the Cherry Blossoms

Have the long five-day school weeks before spring break been getting to you? Are you trying to push through the dense crowd of people at UW just to see a glimpse of the cherry blossoms? The transition from winter break to the spring semester is always hard. To ease your mind, listen to our wonderful little playlist below!

  1. “Spring Came, Rain Fell” - Club 8

As lovely as spring is, the rainfall is no joke. Instead of dodging every raindrop, it's better to accept your fate and dance to this lovely song by Club 8.

  1. “Dog Song” - Yot Club

“Dog Song” by Yot Club is a lovely, whimsical song to listen to as the flowers start to bloom. The one-man band sings: “Well, how does it feel to be a dog? I think I wanna know / No feels or feelings, obligations left to know,” manifesting exactly how we all want to feel entering this spring semester.

  1. “Wop-A-Din-Din” - Red House Painters

This song is a beautiful ode to the singer’s cat: “When I'm here in bed / She'll jump up on my chest / And when we lock eyes there's so much love.” Thinking about the things you love (cats or anything else) will surely power you through these next few weeks. I’m attaching a photo of one of my favorite cats, Boris Strugatsky, that I took in B&W Photography (highly recommend).
