Remembering Google Classroom

It’s been almost a month since the official transition from Google Classroom to Canvas; during this time, many opinions around both platforms have come to light. Some positive, most negative. While this change might be emotional or upsetting for some, we invite you to reflect on the memories, both good and bad. Cherishing the past, sometimes, is the only way to prepare for the future.
The Rambler has provided Google Classroom’s obituary for your remembrance needs:

Google Classroom, introduced to the Bush School in 2020, was officially sent to the great beyond just before the 2025-26 academic year. He is survived by Instructure’s Learning Management Software (LMS), known in their personal life as Canvas. He also leaves behind the rest of the Google Workspace Suite (previously G-Suite): Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms.
Mr. Classroom lived a long, fulfilled life of five years at the Bush School. The Upper School faculty describes him as “[having] big shiny colorful buttons” (Anonymous, History Department) and “limited… not as robust” (Anonymous, Math Department). Meanwhile students will forever remember him as “a true helping hand” (Anonymous, ‘26), "logistically complicated, and unknown emotionally" (Anonymous, ‘28), “annoying because I was automatically signed up for the emails” (Anonymous, ‘27), and “like an old sock…the lesser of two evils” (Anonymous, ‘26).
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Classroom spent his time relaxing on the golf course with his Google Workspace family. Similar to his golf status, he prided himself on acquiring a Google Play Store rating of 2.7/5 and an Apple App Store rating of 1.9/5. The storage he took up on personal cellular devices is truly remarkable.
In light of these trying and emotional times, the wisdom and impact of Mr. Classroom will forever be implanted in our hearts. In his memory, we wish Canvas good luck on their future endeavors. And we commend the courage it takes to follow in the steps of such an influential figure in everyone's academic journey.
Rest in peace, Google Classroom. You will be missed.
